Using phone without a frontend

I'm determined to get a good carpc setup without using a front end. Is there any stand alone software that allows you to connect via bluetooth to your pc and dial and recieve calls?
1. Windows has this weak system stock, you can connect via bluetooth but very little after that
2. bluesoleil is the only other option i have found, and it seems convoluted. Plus I have a hard time trusting chinese software. interface is too cartoony. Manual and help is always very confusing grammar. And i've only had glitchy experiences.

The bluetooth stack just establishes communication with the bluetooth device(s)
You're still going to need some software to control the phone, i.e. access contact list, send commands to dial or answer the phone, and so on.
That software doesn't have to be a full-featured front-end, but you will need something.

Don't most phone manufacturers have software that allows you to do this?


At least I know Nokia used to with their older phones.

Ya i that makes sence. So what are some of these software options that don't involve a front end. No I know my way around android os pretty well, i don't know of anything that exists that could do that. someone has got to know of SOMETHING

Are you still attempting this project? I have a motorola triumph (android) and I am trying to connect it to my carpc (winXP) without a frontend as well. I haven't really looked into much software yet so I guess I am starting here lol. Anyways, I would like to pair my phone with bluetooth and accomplish the same goal of viewing contacts, sending/receiving calls, and sending/receiving texts. I know that it would be possible to plug in the phone (via USB) and have the phone be viewed and controlled on the screen, but I would like to use a wireless bluetooth option if possible. If you are still working on this, I would greatly love to hear what progress you have made, as this is one of my major goals for the next few months!
