Yes you can buy the receivers on their own http://search.ebay.com/search/search...ote&category0= but I don't think you can use 2 at once.
I currently have a mock up of the system I want to install running, and rather than fiddle with a front end, for the time being I am using a combination of PC Navigator and MCE, and will be getting a PowerMate and binding the click function to Alt+Tab, in order to switch between "Music" and "Navigation" interfaces.
I have been testing this, and it all works (surprisingly!!) well. I am using an MCE remote in conjunction with a touchscreen (and eventually PowerMate), giving lots of input possibilities.
My install is going into a large vehicle, discussed (briefly) on another thread: Unusual New Install... Ideas?
I will be putting a small touchscreen into the dash, and installing a 26" TFT in the rear, also connected to the PC; this is where the MCE remote will really come into it's own, especially as, with the rear doors open, it will be possible to see the 26" TFT from the comfort of a nearby picnic table, and control music playback without having to leave a barbecue unattended
Anyway... the actual question!! Because of the separation between the cab and the rear of the vehicle, I am concerned that by locating the IR receiver in the rear, it will be unable to pick up signals when the remote is in the cab, as it is likely to be when driving. Whilst I could live without the remote functionality in the cab, it would be nice to have, so; does anyone know if it's possible to connect multiple IR receivers to MCE and have them receive signals from a single remote *AND* can the receivers be purchased separately to avoid shelling out for the overpriced combination???
Any advice appreciated, ta!
