    Old post digging again.
I bought two TouchSense knobs, they have infinite rotary left or right, push and hold, and click (push and release). I have not yet determined whether it has push, hold and turn simultaneously. I am currently working on finagling some software for it from TouchSense, because although I thought I had the software I did not. I got the drivers off the link under the store listing and I know that works, but I have no way (as of yet) to control it. We'll see how it goes and I will update later.

Three years. I am digging up this old post again just in case anyone is curious about this in the future. I did purchase and play around with the two TouchSense PR-1000 knobs and I never did get them to do anything worthy of note. I had my best tech friend mess about with them for some time, and without any documentation that he was able to find useful he basically chucked them in a drawer and we both forgot about them for a long time.
After a while I purchased a couple of Griffin Powermate knobs to try and was thoroughly unimpressed with them. They have a build quality that I expect from a product sold at Wal-Mart or the like. Certainly not as good as a controller for a console gaming system or anything similar. Functionally it seemed fine, but not what I consider to be meeting the minimum for a quality product that I will use in my own car.
Today in a conversation we were discussing some of the ridiculous hard things that his friends have asked of him and he had to make work. This of course led into conversation about the knobs (one of two problems I have brought him that he could not fix and all told he has had probably less than a dozen ever). This prompted me to finally decided to bite down and purchase the updated version of the TouchSense knob, the PR-1.5 from IntuiTek (I understand they are a subsidiary of Methode Electronics). Anyway, apparently Methode purchased all of the rights, documentation and so forth of the old TouchSense. I had emailed Cecilia with Methode a little over a year and a half ago regarding the developer's kit and possible compatibility with the old TouchSense knob. She informed me that she had no idea as to whether the current software would work as backwards compatible with the old knob and that (at that time) the kit was $300 each plus shipping. I just sent off an email to her today asking for a full current quote on two developer's kits (one must purchase the whole kit). I expect to order these Monday or Tuesday, depending on response time. So - once I have them in hand I will try to remember to update here with a write up regarding their function, ease of use and so forth as compared to the old PR-1000 and the Griffin. I never did try the Logitech or 3DConnexion units because for my purposes they both were obviously wrong.
