The title I chose for the zip that I posted a couple of posts back is something of a misnomer with respect to the "Chatpad XP Driver". it is only a framework application that runs on XP which will attach to a wireless 360 controller through the wireless dongle.
If someone has more knowledge about the USB byte array protocol, specifically that which the wireless 360 controller listens and responds to, then it may be possible for the controller to wake up the chatpad if the correct byte sequence(s) are supplied in one or more write statements to the controller's usb interface using the framework app.
I'd be curious to know how XP would respond to a chatpad that was "awakened". For example, since it would communicate via USB, would XP simply assign an HID keyboard stack to it and make it usable without any extra drivers necessary (yeah, maybe not...)?
After a quick 2-3 page Google on "chatpad driver" just now, it doesn't appear that much else in the way of an actual driver has surfaced yet.
thanks for the update this think is so cool hate we can't use it
Here's the video of me connecting the chatpad to PSP and taping nonsenses....please notice it's backlit with the only power supplied from SIO port....

please, note that at the moment i'm not interested in carputers, and i'm not planning to write much here... but if openKeyboard project goes on, a ps2 interface could be studied

Hey, Havnt read this thread for a while, but recently this has poped up on aus ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Xbox-360-Wire...QQcmdZViewItem
Havnt read into this but i say that it should work with the keypad i reccon.
I think somewhere in the post this is mentioned. It will work as soon as Microsoft releases the drivers for it. Yes the controller will work on the PC, but the PC still needs updating drivers to use the keyboard which attaches to the controller. Im sure that the chatpad worked the same way with the XBOX 360. It most likely works by the 360 updating itself to allow the keyboard to work. Hope someone can correct me if I am wrong.

Yer that sounds about right, and i highly doubt that they will implement this, unless theres a high demand for it by the pc users
why is microsoft being so gay about this?
when the first designed the damn thing they should of already thought of compatibility and use on a pc to increase sales.
