Touchscreen Overlay Replacement

Hi all,

I have the crappy 7" Lilliput TS in my dash. The touchscreen started freaking out on me a few months ago by making the cursor stick in the upper right corner. Im almost 100% sure this was caused by 110+ degree heat damage for extended periods.

My question is: Is there a detailed guide on how to replace the touchscreen overlay on those screens? How Do I get the old one off? I ordered the 40 dollar replacement overlay from the MP3car store.

If the cursor is sticking int he upper corner, I suggest losening the screw in that corner, as it's very possible that the bezel is pressing agains the touchscreen overlay in that corner, causing the behavior.

You can purchase a new overlay, but if you can fix it without shelling out extra bucks, it's worth a shot.

And in case it comes down to it, I believe that Digital Worldwide has a how-to guide for replacing a touchscreen overlay.

Its not the bezel pressing against it cause I did some troubleshooting beforehand. You can physically see the edge of the touchscreen and it looks like its lifting off of the LCD.
--It looks like when you put on a clear sticker on something and get some air trapped underneath it. Im positive that the overlay is lifting or malfunctioning somehow.

--I checked digital Worldwide's site and cant find anything on the replacement tutorials. Has anyone ever replaced these things before?

it would be nice to find a replacement overlay that is clearer and clean and that lets your see in direct sunlight. damn stock overlays suck cuz of the glare.

3M sells them but they are lot more than $40.

I asked 3M for samples through work and got no reply

I dont think you can sample the touchscreens. I think you have to buy it.

no not the TS overlay sample, but their version of the transflective stuff. The barstewards never bothered replying to me or sending any samples... Went through the proper sample request channels and give them a nice bull**** tale about how we were evaluating different displays to put on a machine we are developing

Still no luck

My TS is going funny too, so I will probably be buying a new TS off Armen at DWW sometime soon.
