Hi,
I am a new member in this forums, I work as a GTA at Univ of North Dakota, we are trying to implement Smart Room Technology in one of our laboratories. I have been told from my Dept Chair that he heard about the Road Runner software from one of his students and it could be used to implement this technology. Do any of you guys have any idea?
By SMART Room I mean operating the lights of the room, computers etc from a touch screen panel.
I have no idea about this and need your help here.
I need help and fast!!!!!!

HI,
Thank you very much I did not know that people in this thread reply so fast.
the fusion brain software is skinninable.. therefor you create the design you wish to implement then embed the application into road runner for use on a touch screen.

You might want to consider Smarthome.com for X-10 parts and cocoontech.com for a forum.
I use a combination of programs:
X10Net for networked control of lights and switches (also programmed to send text msg to my phone whenever security cams are triggered)
VNC for remote access over my network
Remote2PC for remote access over the internet using my pocket pc phone, or CarPuter
A simple X-10 install would incorporate ActiveHome control software and a few X-10 lamp modules, maybe replace a wall switch and an electrical outlet. The computer software would handle all the X-10 monitoring and automated tasks and any connected pc could log into the one with the interface (remote desktop, VNC, etc) for manual switching. Done, less than $100.

Hi Sonicxtacy02,
Sorry about asking what might seem like obvious questions to you.
I have another question like how do I create the design (software?) and what is the procedure to embed the application into RoadRunner.
