USB Hub Doesnt Work On Boot - Help
I have a Gigabyte 7VM400M Motherboard with a Lilliput 629 Touchscreen attached. The computer is in the back of my SUV and the touchscreen is in the dash in the front. There was a USB cable running from the back computer to the front touchscreen.
A few days ago I installed a USB 2.0 4-port Hub and attached it to that same cable, and then plugged in the Lilliput and a DeLorme Earthmate LT-20 USB GPS. Both of which work fine on the hub.
However, yesterday and today when I boot the carputer with the hub connected, the computer will not recognize the touchscreen or the GPS. Its almost as if the USB Hub didnt initialize on boot. I have to disconnect the USB cable going to the hub, and reconnect it. (The PC makes the "Ding-Ding" noises) ONLY then will the USB hub work, and recognize the screen and the GPS.
Does anybody know why this is happening? Is this a common issue, and is there a common fix?
I have searched but didnt find anything useful. Everything is running on Windows XP Mediacenter Edition with the latest updates. I usually wouldnt mind having to reconnect the hub everytime I boot, but I put the hub inside the dash behind the screen so it really is a major hassle to do that EVERYTIME I start my car.
If anybody can help me out, I would truly appreciate it. Many thanks in advance :)
