    Will a "Apple/Mac" CD/DVD drive work w/ PC?

So I've been looking around for a slim slot load CD/DVD drive and my search results come up with some confusing results.

It looks like a lot of these "slot load" notebook drives are for Apple laptops.

I guess my question is, will a drive out of an Apple notebook work with a PC? If so, is there any adapters or changes that need to take place?

Just as an example, the following is a link to an Ebay listing for a Panasonic drive and under the compatibility it has both Apple and PC..

    Thanks

It depends how old it is. I know the titanium powerbook (i think) drives wont work because of their proprietary connectors. But any new imac/ibook/G5/mini drives will work. I got a CD drive out of an apple server and it works fine.

They're ordinary ATA drives, so if you can make the connector work or get an adapter it'll be plug an play.
    I don't know what I'm doing anymore.
