Take the touchscreen off the hub and connect it to a USB port on the motherboard. Use a USB extension cable if you need to.
It's the same reason GPS units have this problem.
Half the time when I return from hibernation/restart in order to make the touchscreen work again I have to unplug it and replug it back into the hub. I know GPS's have this problem but I don't know what to do about my screen. Any suggestions or programs to fix this?
What's funny is my GPS is in the hub and its never had a problem coming out of hibernation but ill try it and let you know
Yep, touchscreen really doesn't like being connected to a hub. Also make sure that inside Device Manager that power management isn't set to turn it off when not in use (inside the touchscreen devices Property page).
Also, make sure you don't plug in the touch screen in the same root usb hub on the motherboard (USB plugs come in pairs off the motherboard, keep the touch screen and external hub in different pairs)
When I first installed my carputer, I had my hub and touch screen on the same root hub and the touch screen would randomly stop working all the time. I switched USB plugs and it worked completely fine.
Yeah it worked thanks!
