    JL Audio CL-RLC remote level control

    http://www.crutchfield.com/p_136CLRL...ailed_info#Tab

    I ordered two of these. My plan is to use one as a volume knob and the second for a sub. They have a pass through output which allows for some cool uses.

    I am going to connect my computer to the input of one, with the variable output connected to the input of the second. The pass-through output of the first one will go to my amp for my main speakers. The variable out on the second one will go to my sub amp.

    By doing this, when the main volume is off, the sub will be off too. I should get them in today and I will share my results.

    You could probably set it up to work as fade and balance.

    I'm using 2 of these, for remote sub and treble control...

    PC-> MAUDIO FW 410 -> JL CL-RLC -> SYMBILINK -> CH1/2 ZAPCO DC360.4 -> TWEETS
    PC-> MAUDIO FW 410 -> -----------> SYMBILINK -> CH3/4 ZAPCO DC360.4 -> MIDS
    PC-> MAUDIO FW 410 -> JL CL-RLC -> SYMBILINK -> CH1+2 ZAPCO DC500.1 -> WOOFER

    I use windows mixer for main volume, not the best solution, but it does the job for now.

    What you are planing to do should work fine, you also get the added benefit of the increased volt output (2X line driving) in your case, so you can run your amp gain low for less noise.

    Sorry, I'm out of town and I haven't been able to hook them up yet. Hopefully Monday or Tuesday.
