bump
was wondering if anyone out there that knows how to or has access to circuit board design software that can streamline a board for me
the "cut n paste" image on the right is roughly what im shooting for. the board is currently 2" wide and about 5 1/2" long, the only use i have of the board is the 7 red micro switches that control media functions and the main chip...which can be nothing more than pin-outs to solder wire leads to or plugs, the keyboard ribbon cable connectors are useless apendages that would be removed
if anyone knows how to make this no longer than the largest chip and as compact as possible, and can give some sort of picture to base a new design off of, it would be greatly appreciated.
a dual sided circuitboard is also an option... i need to use this board in conjunction with steering wheel audio controls so the more compact the better
That board is not going to get much smaller than it currently is, and it would be a huge pain in the *** to do that. At most you'd be cutting it down to 70-80% of what it is now. My suggestion would be to either use it as is, or find another keyboard/mouse with the multimedia functions you want, and use the board from that.
That, or look into making a serial port unit by yourself.
