According to the diagram below, how do I determine the resistor value needed to get my 3 wire steering wheel control to work with this unit. I've listed the resistance values for each button below per the service manual.
power 0 ohms
seek down 165 ohms
volume down 652 ohms
mode 0 ohms
seek up 165 ohms
volume up 652 ohms
I have the Sony stalk, and am setting that up for use with the CarPC. While looking for wiring instructions on the JoyCon website, I saw the Sony RX11M under the supported devices. This will integrate VERY nicely into my center console!
Another plus for this, being in the center console, is the M in the model number stands for Marine. Meaning, it is water resistant. No shorting out from condensation of beverages in the console, or the unexpected spill
link to it on JoyCon's site.
I just bought one on eBay for $19.95 with free shipping.
On another note, I have made a LOT of progress with my Sony Stick and the JoyCon! This is friggin sweet! I have the end button for voice recognition, and various for volume, prev/next track, mute, and the one on the back to fire up the "System Lock" so passengers with fidgety fingers can not go changing my music, at the simple press of a button
You mean the RM-X2S? I have that one too, I use it ALL the time, mostly for play/pause/next functions. Very reliable, not one issue since I installed it (the remote and the JoyCon). For voice I use the one at the top of the stalk and it works great!
I have many unused buttons that I don't even remember what they are for...LOL I need better ideas.
Yea, I have the RM-X2S.
JoyCon is working perfectly, with one small exception. Is there a way to tell it what program to send the command to? If RideRunner is not in focus, then commands in the KeyTbl are not received. This can be a problem when embedding applications and other times when RR itself loses focus.
Humm, I don't know, you can have the same profile for multiple apps, but each one would have to be in focus. So if I understand your problem, NAV app is in focus, then a pause keystroke would not be sent to RR (but only those commands in the NAV app profile)...Maybe we should ask the developer to implement that?
Yea, that would be a good addition, is to send the command to a certain program, based on its !Control or its window title. RideRunner has a "GETFOCUS" command, but that's not much good when it is out of focus, it will not receive the command hahah.
Hmmm Even if there was a way to run a script, or program each time the button is pressed would work for RideRunner. RR has a small app you can use to send commands directly it it called Exec.exe. You could then run "Exec.exe|GetFocus. Then send the keystrokes.
I'm will be going in this direction with my current installation....
...I'd fab it and the controller connection cable into my installation. My brain is already fabricating. Will be getting one real soon, just for the mouse function capabilities alone(I use an onscreen keyboard...and of course games!!!)
