in my case i just used 2 thumbsticks, but in cars with not much space to mount a second one this would be a great idea, in case you want to use a cursor for web browsing or other external apps in centrafuse or RR
Is it a xbox or xbox 360 controler ? Do you have a picture of this controler please .

    Thanks

i used the original Xbox controller, i believe the Xbox 360 controller can be used as well, the Playstation controller may also be used for this purpose.
technically speaking, any USB joystick or controller will work.
the benefit of the game console controllers is the thumbsticks, they are very small and offer many functions.

My idea is to use the second stick to make a rotary control like this:

With the rotary control could move in the menus of the RR.

I had used my own game pad (Logitech RumblePad) for test with Ride Runner .

    It is so cool !!!

i saw another thread in which they used a PS/2 mouse to get this accomplished... I'm wondering and hoping i can use my existing jog wheel on the steering wheel to do this.

Fuegomp, i like the idea of the rotary control, but in the creative sense.
a rotary control (knob) is much easier to achieve with the scroll wheel of an old mouse, there is also a little program for it called volumouse it basicly turns your scroll wheel into a volume knob. however the idea you shower would be perfect in case you want to bind it to keyboard keys.

that is true, i also have one of these knobs, and it can also be achieved with some USB mice, usually the older mice have the jog wheel instead of the optical sensors.
even though it is also doable with optical sensors it requires perfect precision, and is less practical.

Volumouse I know, but the volume almost never use, that are controlled with the car stereo. It is preferable to work with two keys, Left and Right to cycle through the buttons on the RR. Now I'm out of time but soon il try put together, the rotary knob to move the buttons and the stick to control the mouse.

I Dont found that emulates the soft turning of the wheel mouse keystrokes, with that would be much easier.

Interesting stuff.. I may look into something like this for my project..though I would like to control mine through bluetooth. Less wires is better for me.
