Using iPhone as remote for iTunes.

    Hi,
I recently gave up on my hackintosh in car and installed windows 7. I would like to have the ability to load iTunes and use my iPhone as a remote for this.
I have this setup at home but it goes through the router.

Being a mac user myself, I know how to connect the iPhone directly to my mac and use the remote that way, however I haven't found a way to do this on windows.

Does anyone have any idea on how I can achieve this?

    Thanks
    JM

create a second network on your wifi and create an ad hoc peer to peer. whenever you start your carpc, or bring it out of hibernate your iPhone should redetect the network and let you use your remote.

Im currently using a laptop w iTunes, 40 gb hd w music, and an itouch connect thru adhoc to see/control the music.

let me know if you have any trouble.. I sure did.

    Thanks for your reply.

I did try this, after reading around, it seems to be a problem with Windows 7. At the moment the wireless card is geputt in, so I'm waiting for the warranty to sort it out for me =)

Which operating system are you using?

Interesting, I never read windows 7 issues, it was always the adhoc creating problems.. I'm using windows xp in my car but 7 on my desktop. I ended up deleting any wireless connections and disabling the firewall to get the touch to find the signal, leave all ip settings to the dhcp w no security.. once everything starts connecting then bring ur firewall back up, then u can add security or other networks..
