Not sure I understand fully what you mean by "detecting clicks to control LEDs", but it seems that you want a relay to short your power button to wake up your laptop by pressing a button on the remote for x secs? The relay would be triggered by the JoyCon? Interesting idea.

    Hello chiefwigms

You can choose which button to wake up the PC.
In the MISC tab of JoyCon Explorer,
check off "By Keyboard", "By Remote controller", "By Any Button"
and check on "By Assigned button"
and assign the button you want to use for wake up PC.
(If you want to wake up PC after x seconds button holding, assign "Long Button" )
You can wake up PC from sleep with the button.

The other buttons can be used for LEDs control.
If the USB port is powered while PC sleep, you can control LEDs while PC sleep.

Please extrahaha, any bluetooth version upcoming? I'd love to see that (to control iPad/iPhone, Android, tablets, other devices that may not have, or not as many free usb ports, but do have a keyboard bluetooth stack).

    THAT would be awesome.

If remote controller of 2008 Civic Si is resistive it works with CarPC JoyCon EX.
If it is CAN BUS, a CAN-analog converter(SWI-CAN) is needed.
Or you can modify it to resistive.

CarPC JoyCon EX is on Mp3Car store too.

Thanks, but you should think about it. Bluetooth radios are getting cheap by the day!

Hey RipplingHurst, I see that you have an FX. I was wondering if your FX is like my Infiniti G and has 2 data wires and a ground. Wondering if you mind sharing how you set up your Joycon? Thanks.

yup - by clicks, i meant, if there is power to joycon without the computer being on, will it still detect events (button clicks)

You can wake up PC from sleep with the button.

The other buttons can be used for LEDs control.
If the USB port is powered while PC sleep, you can control LEDs while PC sleep.

I'd be looking at the "long button" option, but my understanding from "sleep" was that the PC still needed to be in a suspended state (mine will have no power, and the battery will be dead). I guess i'll have to try it out some time - it'd be sweet if it'd work without using a relay to short the power button, but i'm sceptical i'll keep you guys posted

    hi Chiefwigms

If CarPC JoyCon EX is powered on, it works regardless of PC.
When the PC has no power but CarPC JoyCon EX is powered by hub, it works ok.
So you can control LEDs(or power on the PC itself with relay circuit) even though the PC is powered off at all.
