every one ive talked to says this should be working. unfourtnatley i dont have any resistors here but i will pick some up and let you know how it goes.
No, it needs a resistor between ground and the input, otherwise there's no division of voltage so it stays the same. Somewhere between 2-5K, I forget. When the windows hit limit the current increases dropping voltage. Not not sure why it would cause problems though. I'm actually taking my motors out today to override the thermal breakers. They both have trouble again.

i dont just suck at spelling i also suck at typing.
It will work. These are the values I get on mine. So you should get 1/4 of these, since yours is 8 bit instead of 10 bit. If the values are all on the low end the resistor is too low, high end it's too high.
function ConvertButton(val)
{
if(val >= 620 && val <= 630)
return 'PRESET'
else if(val >= 780 && val <= 783)
return 'AMFM'
else if(val >= 824 && val <= 860)
return 'TRKDN'
else if(val >= 870 && val <= 895)
return 'TRKUP'
else if(val >= 921 && val <= 927)
return 'MUTE'
else if(val >= 935 && val <= 944)
return 'PLAY'
else if(val >= 958 && val <= 959)
return 'VOLDN'
else if(val >= 953 && val <= 972)
return 'VOLUP'
}
The same. It just needs a resistor to get it working right.
just so you know i have a joycon and the joycon ex. the joycon wouldnt work at all for me.(all though i think i may have friead it) what i have happening is useing the joycon ex.
i dont just suck at spelling i also suck at typing.
i have a joycon in my 2001 ws6, the contols are unpluged to the wheel so there is no voltage there just the resistance from one wire to the other when you press the buttons.that is both wires from the joycon hooked directly to the controls and nothing but the controls. i will take some pictures tomorrow after work if anyone needs.
hey whistler what do you mean the controls are unpluged. what plug do you mean.

The resistive steering wheel remote controller itself don't output voltage.
If the remote controller is connected to car audio(or other devices), 12V can be detected between DATA and GND.
The resistive steering wheel remote controller can not be connected both to car audio and CarPC JoyCon(EX) at the same time.
Disconnect the remote controller from car audio, and connect it to the CarPC JoyCon(EX) only.
If the remote controller is resistive, it will work. The red indicator will appear at different place by the button press.
sorry no pics today im too busy.get them in the morning i promise. but i have no radio so there is no voltage to the controls. and im hooked in at the connector at the bottom of the steering column.
