    Very cool cameras and monitors!

I'm curious about CCD cameras...any recommendations?

---------- Post added at 01:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:55 AM ----------

Found this one for $49.00 (previously $199); CCD, great reviews. I would use it behind the front grille, but I'd like the ones posted in the OP better for the side/rears. But I can't find the specs for them.

Bought one of these monitors, the user manual does not describe anything regarding "programming" the monitor.

It seems that it defaults to AV4 / AV2 when the green wire (backup cam) is activated... Regardless what i set it to with the "Mode" button on the remote or on the front glass. Pretty stupid.

I want it to display three video inputs, or even a single one, but two isn't what i wanted....

I am using as side and rear cams with this 3 screen monitor/mirror. the 10" monitor/mirror is top quality and has 4 video inputs 1 is switched to be for reverse cam. if you need links just ask SNO

Just bought those cameras, and one more for the inside. I'm not sure about that screen, though, it's too big unless you want to replace your viewmirror, and I don't. So I'm looking for a smaller 3/4 view screen, or two maybe. Or maybe I should buy a multiplexer...

I bought one of these just for that single purpose, since the rearview monitor was too big, and the unability to show 3 video feeds when the backup wire is enabled.

Incredibly cheap for what you get, it works perfectly and the picture quality is stunning for such a cheap multiplexer.

I opened mine up and poured some silicone on top of capacitors and coils, otherwise it won't live long in a car - the hot glue that the factory had applied on top of the coils was knocked loose in the mail transit to Denmark...

A picture of the internals: http://gallery.zapro.dk/albums/Techn...h/P1000167.JPG

The picture is bebore i poured silicone...

And two videos of it in action:

Please ignore the interference lines on the TV - i couldn't get the Camera to sync to the TV

Oh, man thanks for the info. Saw both videos, very impressive stuff for the price. Theres also one at amazon for about 80.00; with a VGA output, but maybe I don't need that.

Now you got me thinking, wha kind of monitor will best display those views...would widescreen work? I had this 5.6 in mind, but I'm not sure I could do split view in one...I like the one with three cameras, one main and two at the bottom.

    Thanks again,

    Thanks again,
The menus in the Switcher mentions VGA (usually similar products share software, regardless of features), but there is no output circuitry for VGA, nor could i source a datasheet for the Video Processor (i'm always curious what you can tinker around with, hehe)

There is a option to enable alarms too, and there is place for a buzzer on the PCB, but it's not mounted. It can make alarms on motion detection, loss of signal etc. - Something i will probably not use.

In my case, VGA wouldn't be an plus, since my monitor (7" Widescreen TMR) from Linitx only has a single VGA input, and the backup wire enables a composite video input. I am looking at installing a camera in the side mirrors, the front and the back of the car, and then use the 4-split screen to monitor them when parking... Will be so sweet when i get the parts (The cameras are held in customs atm. since the seller did not include a reciept for them) Bugger...
