    Touchscreen wont work after hibernating...

I am nearly finished with the project but when I use hibernate in Win2K the touchscreen does not work after coming out of hibernate.

It works great after shutdown and booting up, but doesn't work after hibernate. When coming out of hibernate I get the small icon in the lower right corner near the clock showing there is a USB device connected, but doesn't work.

I am using a USB touchscreen, controller board made by Dynapro (I think). The drivers are from the 3M website, not sure what version.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

UPDATE: It is the SC4 USB controller

I to use win2k. Now my question is do you mean hybernate, as in stand-bye? or just plain ol hybernate? wasnt that a feature in win98? I use stand-bye and everything works well after comming up.

Anyway have you tried to unistall the drivers? disable the device, shut down, disconnect any of the devices. Re-boot. Shut down again, then reinstall it all? Its a shot in the dark.

Also is your usb device NOT properly seated? Does your mobo provide power to the USB device while in Hybernate? Sounds like it does not recieve power in hybernate then when the computer comes out of hybernate its not initializing.

Check your event viewer. In start, settings, control panel, administrative tools. check your error messages, any related to your device?

Also have you installed any other software that may conflict with your touch screen drivers? Give it a shot. You never know

Just hibernate, no standby. There is no power to USB device when in hibernate.

USB coonection seated ok. (by the way using EPIA 800)

Will check event viewer this weekend and try to figure out whats going on. Pending event viewer results, will try driver uninstall/reinstall this weekend.

Only software I am using is WInamp, PowerDVD, and nero drivespeed, thats it.

    Thanks

I used standby on my machine, and this problem occurs probably one out of every 40 resumes from standby. I never bothered to fix it since its occurance was so unlikely.

The problem I have is that my only input device is the touchscreen, no mouse, no keyboard. I can't selct shutdown without another input device, so I get no shut down to get a clean reboot.

When I turn off the ignition it just goes back into hibernate, when I turn on ignition it comes out of hibernate with the same problem. ( I guess I have only tried once now, so maybe the first time was the 1 of 40 times)

    Thanks

Ok so now your problem does not sound like a touch issue but more like a keyboard, mouse issue. Mouse and touch or both pointing device that get initialized at boot up. Do this buddy and it might fix your problem.

Get into your bios, and somewhere in there. Look for "ignore all error at startup" or something along those lines. I would not be able to tell what to specifically look for cause I do not use an Epia. Just look for something along those lines. Usually when you have any type of problem like this your comp can go a lil crazy and usually it wont start at all or will just act erratic.

    Hope it works out GL.

edit: After re-reading your post I notice you do not have a mouse or keyboard. So I take back my post. LOL. But I will leave it up there JUST IN CASE you never know

    Good luck.
