Talkover / auto mute software ? i do not know the exact name

    Hi all,

I have been searching for some info about talkover or auto mute.
do not know exactly how its called in english thats why i place a message here.

What i want to do is the following:

because the audio is not 100% with centrafuse bluetooth handsfree i have connected my old parrot ck 3200.
the "problem" is that i do not use the original wires for the door speakers so the auto mute unit from parrot has no function.

i want to connect the sound output from the parrot into the micophone or line in on the soundcard but when it detects sound it must mute the music or movie , whatever is on.

same thing i would like to have but for my stinger dsi , because when the music is a bit louder the speaker from the dsi is not noticeable anymore.

hope someone knows what i mean or how the software is called.
i asume there are other people with the same "problem"

    Thanks

    Vincent

I have the same issue you do. I have been using my Parrot for aprox 6 years now and it used to mute music fine until I replaced the head unit with the PC last year. Now I have a Griffin Power Mate sitting next to me and I push it for mute when a call comes in. I would be interested in this software as well unless it is expensive because ultimately, I would like to try the new Pheonix board that just came out to improve BT audio and eliminate the Parrot.

most of the parrot units appear to have a mute output-- it might be easiest to connect that via a FB, winamp plugin, etc to tell the pc to mute the audio.

Yes, it does have a mute line. I am using CF (same as the op) so no winamp. I'm sure I could cut the audio some where along the line with relays but I really don't want to go down that road, specially if it is coming out in the next few months.

you could run winamp in the background just for the serial program even though you don't need it, a serial adapter would be the cheapest route. the only other option i can think of wold be a io box like the fusion brain-- and that isn't very cheap..

Use Audio Zone Trigger. Connect the HF-kit to line in, monitor that line. When Audio Zone Trigger detects sound on line in, make it send the same hotkey as mute in Centrafuse. Problem solved.

Now that sounds interesting. If I already have the line in used up for Sat radio, could this still work? Could I use the MIC-IN on the X-fi for the HF and use the LINE-IN for the SAT and get them to all play nice together? BTW, I am using RR now IPO CF and Windows 8 so maybe that makes this even easier?
