    interesting DIY button interface

    randomly found this today...

    dont know if it has ever been posted. but it looked like a nice clean way to build some "macroed" commands into an mp3 player. perhaps one of the guys with the single or double din cases could use this for their faceplate buttons...

    again... maybe this is useful, maybe not.

    I used that in my first setup. I had 8 buttons on the Com Port, worked great!

    damn i am going to need to get another usb hub so i can free up my serial port!

    i want to add steering wheel controls for rw,ffw,play,stop,pause much like a standard chrysler control system for their radios

    I would hate to see the wiring, but with two serial ports and custom software we could have 254 buttons !

    just think of all we could do with 254 buttons...

    hell, I bet we could even make some into keys and we could type on it!

    lol...that could be cool for remote volume control and other misc features

    that was scarcasim, but I was serious about the last part...like something to control volume via steering wheel.

    (wtf would you do with 254 buttons? lol...I'd make a guitar.)
