    CarPC JoyCon EXR + BMW I-Drive CIC-Controller

    Hi at all,

this is mey first post in this Forum.
I a German Guy, so I'm not a english nativ speeker. pls be patient with me ;-)

I just trie to buil up my first car pc... an this is the forum where I found most answers
of my questions by searching and reading.

But now I have a qeustion for which I don't find the answer.

I've read that i can use steering weel remote as an HID interface on my ca pc via USB.
Should this work with the i-Drive CIC Controller there are 4 pins + GND, CAN high and Can low. so normaly it should work BUT I reed that the controler need a can signal all 4sec otherwise it powered off... so I'm unsure.

What do you think or know will the JoyCon EXR emulate such a signal every 4sec?

Thanks for help and thanks for this forum/Community

Those issue seems to be intresting. nearly 100 hits but unfortunatelly no answer.
So the only way semms to be... buy and try.
Maybe someone has an idea how to send a signal every 4sec to the device...

    thanks

Not sure if it's interesing for some one.

I found something that shoud make the iDrive controler work as an HID Device.
I've ordered one and hope that it will be work.

    will keep you informed...
