if you have a car built after 1996 it should have an obdII connector, and you can get a serial module to put into those

do a search for obdII interface

What about if you've got a car made in 1970's??

Any way to integrate the details from the Mark 2 Escort running gear which will be in my Anglia??

While I cannot remember any manufacturers at the moment, there are companies that sell convertors so that old analog gauges can work with new digital ones. You might be able to interface that.
