Anyone else here think the current way to right click on the touchscreen is annoying? I do.
Does anyone know of any utilites or small apps or even mouse drivers that will allow you to right click by holding down the left click for a short momenet? If you have a PocketPC you know what im talking about, this is how its done on windows based PDA's and ive grown accustomed to it. Its fast too, dont have to click something else to turn on right click mode. Just hold your click for like 2 clicks.
TIA

Yes... I know exactly what you are talking about. I have seen TouchScreen drivers for I think the ELO touch screens that implement this feature. It can be easily done... just have to light the right fire underneath the people who develop your drivers... this can be quite difficult...Originally Posted by liquid_smoke
The touchscreens at my work have a little box in the upper lefthand corner of the desktop to activate right clicking/dragging

Better than winamp. Click here for qcd player.
i have this box too, its in the lower right hand corner. But this isnt a good way to do it IMO. Im getting tired of having to push it, then do a right click and if i want to right click again i have to push it again. It works like the shift key. If it would stay in right click mode until i switch it that would be better. But left click and hold to right click would be ideal.
The xenarc drivers include a right/left mouse button alternator...

This peice of software claims it can keep it always in right click mode or only single click like current drivers.
It seems like a simple program to code yourself. Just change the mouse setting from right handed to left handed. And for singe right click mode, when you catch an onClick event, set it back to right handed mode or vice versa.
The hold/delay method is a little more complicated. You'd have to find a function/method that tells you how long the button has been pressed or loop around an isPressed event. But then, you'd have to simulate a right click event at the current mouse location. This seems more suited to a driver then add on application. But my experience with guis and drivers is pretty limited. Maybe someone else can shed some light and/or write the app for us.
