    Gyro mouse Gyro Remote Gyro....

I was wondering if anyone here has used any of the Gyro Mice or Gyro remote and what your opinion of it was. I am considering getting one to use with Media Engine and Co-Pilot.
Let me know of your experiences!

    thanks

I just purchased the Gyro mouse and rf keyboard combo. The mouse works fairly well....the gyro does work but it a little hard to manage at times. I really like the keyboard...it's real compact and works great. Considering it will probably cost at least $40 for an average rf mouse keyboard combo I think the gyration combo is worth the extra money. The best price I've seen is $80 on ebay.

I have the gyration unit. I initially was trying to get a RF keyboard with the thumb pad pointer on the right (like versapoint) but couldnt stand to wait on shipping so I got the gyration at best buy. I'm glad I didnt order the versapoint.

After using it for a couple weeks, I now find it very easy to use, and when I pull out the keyboard also, I set the mouse down on the armrest. Since it doubles as an optical mouse, it's just perfect. I dont think you could safely use it while driving. If you have to have a pointing device to use while driving, I'd suggest that a touchpad is the best for that. (short of a touchscreen which is a much much safer device for that sort of thing)

I suppose I should also note that the gyro is very sensitive. You could not use it while the car was underway no matter how bumpy the road.. you'd never be able to point at what you want...

I have the unit .. id say dont waste your money.. the mouse is the worst piece of overpriced crap ive ever used .. impossible in an automotive environment and very uncomfortable to handle.. the keyboard however is really nice but not worth the price for the combo.. you can do better/cheaper

Gosh...well I'm still trying to get rid of this touch overlay I have. I thought this might be the answer
I didn't find my touchscreen to be particularly safe since I had to lean forward to reach it with my finger. So I suppose what I still want, is a remote that can be used with co-pilot. Does anyone know if co-pilot supports keyboard shortcuts to move around in it?

Even if copilot doesnt, the buttons are usually in fixed places.. With enough scripting you could probably make it work though it would be very very hard :-/
