I am having the exact same problem with the powermate. Must unplug and replug the thing in. I suppose I'll wait for the golden new driver for Christmas. I hope I was good this year.

    Any news on this?
My friends CarPC I'm building has one and I've been testing it on my laptop at home.

I have a Dell Inspiron 8100 and I installed the 1.5.2 drivers and still after reboots or powerons it sometimes won't even detect it.

It's a nice piece of hardware, the USB cable could have been longer though. Too bad, it's buggy. They must have Mac programmers programming drivers and software for Windows. I wonder how it works on a Mac. Maybe I'll try it on my friends 17" battery eating LCD Powerbook.

There is a conflict with the Powermate and my Logitech MX-500 <--BAD *** MOUSE. It seems that I could get everything to work to my satisfaction with a regular mouse, though the software needs work. I did get it to function reasonably, but as soon as I installed the mouse the Powermate became worthless; it stopped doing anything; it became unresponsive but continued to flash.

Does anyone have a Powermate working with a MX mouse or any Logitech for that matter?

I used the powermate with my wireless logictec combo and it was not reliable, but not because of the mouse/keyboard.

Now the cool cool great questions...Everyone...
What color do you have? Black or Silver? When did you purchase?

I was at CompUSA today and was like, hmmm, a silver Powermate in my car would be nice for $39.99. Thinking to myself shoudl I take a chance? Is the silver different from black? Someone said yes and werks tha same.

Well tonight I found out this:
When the Black is plugged in and I turn on PC, it pulses and then gets initalized.
When the Silver is plugged in and I turn on PC, it does not pulse or light up till USB gets initialized.

Now I have gotten the Black to be unrealiable, but my Silver so far after 10 reboot and power downs werks perfect.

My silver also has a small sticker on the inner chip on the bottom that says PC - Youc an see it under the clear rubber.

Can people examine there units and tell me what you see?

Maybe you can get new version units. You guys got Betas maybe??????

    So they are different!!!
