Intrested in your box though...i have just bought a deskpro for 19 pounds....and this is one of those embedded compaq boards with integrated everything.....
i bet its probably about on par with yours.

how do you find it.

I find it ok. It's not particularly powerful. But it's very small (a lot smaller than most desktop motherboards), and size and low power is what my system is mostly about.

so will the serial > usb adaptor work with the irman and the touchscreen? wont it confuse the software just a little if its looking for activity on the serial port.

It will setup as a COM port once the software is installed. Then you can make it any com port number you want in device manager then make the software you are using with the IR Man to look at that com port.

i take it you mean the software that comes with the usb > serial adaptor.....so it port replicates?
