    same here..

    @gore
What driver are you using ( link? ) ?

I'm experiencing some weird behaviour. Sometimes, without any logic that I could found it just stops working. I have to unplug and plug the USB to game adapter to make it work again.
Ever happened anything similar to you??

Finally! it works! After a year.

Brav, is that the radio shack adapter? I use that and don't have any trouble with it stopping, even with hibernation.

    Its not radios shack.

While it was in my desktop machine, I never saw this happen, but I can't tell that I used it on the desktop for long periods of time.
I intend to remove it from the car and bring it back to the desktop for further testing, but its so damm useful in the car that I'm always delaying

    Thanks for the link

I have exactly the same USB adapter

winXp detect a 2axes/4 buttons joypad (position 3 on USB adapter) and the last plugin made by curiosity (link gived by curiosity )

You have wire the jack directly on the usb adapter? nice

I haven't test the X2S more than an hour (it's installed since Yesterday in my car) and when I don't have any trouble with hibernation

    sorry for my horrible english

Yes, I had the jacks lying around and just felt it would be perfect.

The problem is, I think, not hibernation related. It happen even when I cold boot the carputer, and sometimes it takes a few secs to hang, other times it takes minutes or even hours to hang. I'm beginning to think that is somehow power related.

    My English it's not better

I haven't this problem, sorry. When a cold boot the joystick is detected and work with girder directly when it's launched.
I have a 3m USB cable (what I have in stock ) before the >1m cable of the adapter, and the >3m cable of joystick and it works. the only difference with the 3m USB cable is the "no action" signal. without it's "-7" and with the 3m cable in my car : "-15". I have change the "dead zone" and it rocks
(maybe it's not the 3m cable, it's the car battery... maybe)
