It worked earlier. I got to see it! That's as good as having steering wheel controls only with even more switches. Cool!

@spaghetti : right click / save target as... in IE or maxthon only... sorry (multimania )

@Curiosity : 12 commands, + the repeat commands for example the "off" button display task manager, and "repeat OFF" shutdown the PC
It's very usefull and easy to use... It rocks

I will made an other (better) video when NMC support keyboard, with track + / track - and more

What driver are you using ( link? ) ?

I'm experiencing some weird behaviour. Sometimes, without any logic that I could found it just stops working. I have to unplug and plug the USB to game adapter to make it work again.
Ever happened anything similar to you??
I recently did a reinstall, changed to SP2, and now I'm using an epia 6000. The joystick works fine.
Sometimes I can ear that sound that XP makes when an USB device is unplugged/plugged. So I'm guessing that even if the behaviour that I described still exists, now XP reconnects automatically, what means that it works perfectly.

I want to thank everyone that helped on this mod. Couldn't live without it anymore

Is there anyway to do this without the game port, or the usb-game port adapter?

a member of carmedia.org (french forum) try to create a module to connect the sony joystick (+ IR remote control) to PS/2 port, but it's not ended. he will give me a prototype to test and debug it. I will post here when it's finished

but gameport is an excellent solution, work fine in my car since lot of months. why don't you want to use it?

    Because I don't have a game port , and I can't find a decent priced usb-gameport convertor.

i have tried reading and understanding this post but i got a bit lost.

i have the X4S which i love as a remote and was about to get rid of because of the imminent carputer install.

is there anyway that some one can consisely explain what i would have to do to get it working with windows

Just get a cheap USB gamepad then. It must have at least 1 analog input. Take it apart and disconnect the analog stick, then connect the sony remote to that.

So from what you're saying, it would be possible to move the buttons from a gamepad to this joystick? I thought this wasn't possible as the actual buttons on the sony remote are...well...joysticks...
if it's possible then this would be sweet, as I was looking on hacking the existing steering wheel controls, but I woudn't want to tamper with those....
