lilliput remote and mediacar

anyone use there lilliput remote to controll mediacar. of course its with the help of girder. i just got girder and im trying to learn how to use it.

Nope, the remote only controls the screen afaik, and the inputs never make it to the computer.

How does the IR receiver look inside?
Is it possible to just solder couple wires to it and to SERIAL connector on the other end to plug into computer?

Why does the remote have so many buttons, when there's only some of them are usable...

You could get a USB IR Transciever to recieve/send IR commands from the remote and to the screen or your carputer.. There are several out there targeted towards the HomeTheater PC market..

Right now I'm fine with the Creative IR remote. But with Lilliput there's 2 IR receivers in my car. Why would not use just the one located on monitor, if it is be possible to connect it to seral port too.
