Setup the remote so it installs necessary drivers, get rid of all extra software. Setup girder with creative device (get plugin at girder.nl). Get Coyotes sample girderfile. Load it, play around with it. Let girder 'learn' your different keys.

If you are still lost, check the help section on girder.nl for basics, it got me started.

Check here for creative remote plugin.
Install it in girder plugin dir. Open girder-settings-plugins,
look for window on the right, scroll down, there you must enable the plugin.
Also auto-enable plugin device for next startup.
if you press a key on your remote the little light on the right hand bottom
corner in girder should flash green.
To install Coyotes girder file, just 'open file' it in girder
and then make girder 'learn' your Creative keypresses (learn button).
Be sure to save after you learned your keypresses.

Make sure the file ends with .GML
I think if you copy and/or save it, XP auto-renames it to .xml due the file characteristics which are or resemble a xml file.

So it was changed to .xml?
Try to load it with 'import group'?
what version of girder you use?

    I guess I'm out of idea's.

Maybe address Coyote with this problem in the Mediacar section?
