Steering Wheel Controls

Make sure it's set to ohms, and try between TX+ and TX-. When you hold a button down you should see the meter change. If not, try between ACC and TX+ or ACC and TX-.

Still nothing!!

But when I try to measure voltage through GROUND and TX- I have 2,5V on idle and 2,4 when pressing one button...
But with TX+ I get 0,6V without a change!!!

I don't want to pay $120 to get new steering wheel controls IN CASE mine don't work anymore!!!
I suppose the only solution is to try from a friend's controls!!!!

Maybe it really is digital? I don't think you broke it, it's just different.

One more possible thought: Does the SWI-X say it works with your exact make and model car? I think they assume it works with some year range.

No, it doesn't have corolla (although it has some other toyota models)...
If it is digital isn't there a way to interface it??

I never got your email. I started changing the source code to make it into a girder plugin, but I never finished and I never backed up my original. The codes currently broken and I'm in the middle of about 5 other projects, but I will either try to put the code back and get it compiling again, or just post it as it is now so you can get an idea of how it works this weekend.

I will also eventually finish making it into a girder plugin, but probably won't have time till at least january.

Do you have the service manual for your car? This is how I figured mine out. It actually had the exact resitances to test for and even how to test them.

If it is digital it might say which bus or something it uses, but probably not how to test it.

Do it on eBay. Just do a search for toyota corolla service manual.

been searching for the past couple hours and havnt really found anything solid yet, keep getting thrown off by special cases, such as using existing car switches and such, but if anyone could help me i would be grateful

, i dont have any steering wheel controls however i have been wanting to put a few buttons on the dash somewhere to control volume, tracks and such. i was just wondering what i would need to build this, i would want a minimum of 3 up to 7 momentary switches that this program (or any other if anyone knows of anything that would work) could read. im decent with soldering and pretty good with fabrication w/ plastics/bondo/fiberglass so im not really limited there. just need to know how to hook up the buttons to the joystick port (i have a old joystick that i can rip apart).
