When I look at the USB hub's indicator lights (where the drive is plugged in) the port light with the DVD lights up for a few seconds then it turns off and acts as if there is nothing plugged into it. All my other USB devices seem to be working fine. I'm using XP so it should recognize the drive automatically. Anyone else have trouble connecting USB devices and know how I can get it to recognize?

    Thanks
Did you buy the little blue one with power supply and adapters from Ebay? I am having the same problems and the driver even crashes my computer on occasion or it will work and then stop working for no reason.

i had the same problem with these adapters. the first one i bought was called an "easy go usb2.0 to ide adapter" no web site support at all. it actually worked the first time then quit. i went crazy looking for info on it but found nothing. i finally got another on ebay. i bought the whole aluminum case and just took the guts out. works flawlessly. had to extend the molex and wired up 5v from the computer ps it was like $40us i think.

Stay away from any Ebay auctions for these devices. Bought one, didn't work, auction said will replace, no replace, no tech support, no email response. Such a rip-off.

Here is an auction link to avoid: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=5110767855

Look at reviews for this item and they all say the same thing that it sucks and no support is provided.

got it to work with my 2.5" HDD but will not work with a 3.5" HDD whether using the included power supply or with the drive plugged into a connector on the PC supply.

Yep, all done prior. The drive was actually one that came in a external HDD case, I just took it out to put in one with more storage. The USB Thingy is picky; sometimes it work and sometimes it doesn't. Or, it'll be working and then stop and crash my system. I'm chalking it up to poor driver even though XP does not need a driver installed for the device.
