there are a series of resistors in the steering wheel control. so a different voltage gives a different output. only way i think you can find out is with a circuit diagram or with a multimeter.
what is AD?
tricky one,
i've got an 05 corolla which has a similar set up. I had to connect ground to one wire and the +3.3v to the other 1 wire (its only a 3 wire system) and the sense to the final wire. Each time you press a switch you are going to get a different resistance coming down across the two ends. Just check to see if you have a ground there anywhere to start off with. If you haven't it doesn't matter which way you connect it up.
there is one wire that goes to the touchpad, this provides +12v, one wire is ground. Now in my case the remaining wire is used to sense the voltage drop. I think yours has two to sense the voltage drop. hope that makes sense.
OK I understand. But I have a couple of questions
First of all the wire from my head unit says +3.3V . Where should I connect it?
Second , There are 2 wires for control and the head unit has only one. What could i do for that?
I would connect the +3.3v to the top rail on the touch pad. ground is one wire and the two sense wires must be the remaining two. I think you have got a facelift loom.
