yes.. a remote is a much better option
I'm thinking about buying one of those RF remote control things to control my WinAmp.
I currently use a small PS/2 numeric keypad, but I can't seem to find a good place for it.
It's always in the way and I really have to bend my right hand to reach it.
I found a remote that is around $25 (incl. s&h), it's an RF kind that connects to a serial port. Do you think it would be a good idea to exchange the numeric keypad for one of those?

i agree, but I believe you are going to need winamp 2, the others dont support external program control. If you find anything different, please let me know.

I got an ATI Remote Wonder RF USB remote. It's dope. It's big (universal remote size), but it's dope. It's got about a 20 foot range outside the vehicle... possibly more if the antenna wasn't in a box between the seats.
But I've also got a retractable keyboard and touchscreen, the remote is for the back of the van and outside.
I think it would work with WinAmp... it works with Media Engine.

Hell, the new WinAmp doesn't support anything at all
Well, actually I've seen tens of remote-control plugins, so who knows..
Maybe I should just buy it. It's worth the risk.
