What is the best IR adapter for Grider (USB)

I have been searching, and reading, and searching for the best solution to IR for Grider.

I don't think I want to build my own adapter, and I am pretty sure I want to use USB.

What is the best (functional and cost effective) solution?

IRMAN looks to be popular, but it appears to also be over priced.

If I did build one according to http://www.lirc.org/receivers.html

Would it be basically the same as IRMAN, or is there something better about IRMAN
