Thread: Laptop Touchpad to PS2

    plan to add custom buttons, as they are on a separate board and one button is defect. This buttons can be connected to T6, Left Mouse Button and T7, Right Mouse Button. 5V = not pressed, 0V = key pressed.

    Here is the Pinout for the Synaptics chip picture 2

    the ps2 is the male connector.


    its not tha same chip, but i guess the connections are the same..

    I am sorry. Could you be a little more specific. I appreciate the help. How did you determine those test points ? Are they aligning with something or did you refrence something.

    in this picture you se the edge marked "key". this is the corner of the chip with the round marking (dot).
    the numbers match the pins on the ps2 plug.

    i found this online.


    As i can see they match the colors you have in your pic.
    Just connect it to the ps2 plug and try.

    Where and onto what do I exactly start to solder on ? The circular gold plated spots on the PCB marked with a T and a numeral ? If so wich ones ? In between post I was Google'ing for more specific info peratining to my touchpad to no avail.

    do you have the flat ribbon cable for the touchpad?

    i guess its a 12 pin connector ?
