Hi guys/girls,
Im having trouble figuring out the pinouts for a Mac Powerbook 520C touchpad. What pins would i need to connect to get this puppy working with the PS/2 port? Here are some pics to show you what im dealing with:

I'm not sure if that's going to even be PS/2. Macs used ADB for a long time, though I don't know about the powerbooks.
dont waste your time and energy
get a touchpad elsewhere and I must ask are you planning on using a touchpad in a moving vehicle ?
test it first for the following two reasons
1) touchpads (some of them) work on sensing the temparature differential of your finger to the surroundings, not going to work well in a car at all
2) How are you going to handle bumps ? the touchpad will be double clicking all over the place
Nano ITX / 512 MB / 60 GB / Panasonic slot load / M1-ATX / Bu303 / Sound blaster 24 / PPi amps / rockford sub
FS = MTSVO motorised in dash screen pm me for details
They are so cheap, i've picked them up from ebay for $5 and they are already in a small case. And they are PS/2, or just pull one from a PC laptop they are PS/2 as well.

Almost all commercial touch devices are resistive (pressure sensitive) or capacitive (measures the change in electrical capacitence caused by your finger.) Most touchpads are of the latter type (touch screens are often resistive). There's no reason either wouldn't work in a car environment.
ummmmm, my Cirque touchpad works just fine , bumps and allOriginally Posted by SAScooby
