Never used the d-link, but I don't see what it could offer over this. This one has an external antenna and reception seems decent, the only thing I wish it had was RDS.

so i ordered 4 and received them today. Plugged one into my computer, installed the software and couldn't hear anything. Once in awhile I'd see the STEREO indicator come on, but no sound. So after much cursing, I put everything back in the box. Then I notice that i had my computer speakers OFF.....

Anyway, this thing is great. If using with your car's antenna, the reception should be very good. I never bothered with radiator, but I think I'll look into it now.

i took one apart and found that it uses a Philips TEA5757h IC for FM tuning. Looked that up and saw that some MediaForte FM capable soundcards use this chip.

Specifically, the SF64-PCE(SoundForte RadioWave 64-E) and SF64-PCE2(SoundForte Awesome 64R). These two cards are in the list of Radiator supported cards. I'm going to go try these out now.

    Done.

The FM radio mouse plugin for radiator can be downloaded at the bottom of this page:
    http://www.digitalwheelz.com/UbiquityV_Developer.htm

The C++ source code is also available.

The plugin only implements Mute, IsStereo, and Tune.

YOu must have the Radio.dll file install in your windows directory for this plugin to work. The radio.dll file is installed there by default with the installation of the program that the FM Mouse ships with for controlling it. To use the plugin, just put it in your radiator plugin directory and select it from the options screen.

FYI the radio doesn't work if you disable the mouse in device manager.

No need to disable, i'm just going to "destroy" the mouse: Remove the ball and "wheels", and put some glueinto the buttons so it never will respond as a mouse anymore
