SWI-X: Whats a good USB IR device for it

i posted this in a swi-x thread a while ago with no response, but i wanted some help finding a usb IR input, and making something that will be effective using it.

i figured making some sort of enclosure with the swix transmitter/reciver on one side and the comp IR device on the other, both inside so light isnt an issue...

could i just tape them together???? do they have to be some distance apart?

i hear IrDA devices are no go for this kind of scenario

I used a USB StreamZap remote and just taped the remote's reciever to the swi-x transmitter.

In the past, I also used a serial Anir Multimedia remote and reciever.

ya i'm looking for the receiver, are they sold alone, etc etc...

Has anyone else had any luck with the Streamzap and SW1-X together?
