Great great find! Too bad my case is too small to fit any PCI cards =\. Can't wait til this M1000 dies or something so I have an excuse to build a mobile athlon setup with a much bigger case![]()
I figured I would start a new thread for this. Apparently on some of the Sound Blaster cards, there is 4 pin connection that allows you to hook up two buttons. Each button will either turn it up, and pressing both will mute everything. It has to have the VOL_CTRL connector. I know for sure searching the internet that Audigy Platinum, and Sound Blaster Live cards. I am trying to get a list of all of them. This lets me use the volume controls on my steering wheel becuase they are buttons, plus I don't have to hack off any volume control from the audigy platinum. Now I didn't even need to spend that much money on a sound card. Check out the pics below, if you got questions, let me know.

Round VIII - [IIIIIIIIII] 30% Have some parts for 300zx Sema car I don't own yet. Will have 10.4" & 7" screen, and more then you can believe. Will add updates to cleancustoms.com, will be sweet. My car is still same, but might change.

It looks like it is all Live! and Audigy 1 cards, but Im still looking. I am not sure about the Audigy 2 stuff yet, but I imagine they would. There are not any noticeable changes from the Audigy 1 to Audigy 2 board layout, but I can't find a close up of the cards yet.
Hey Hcomplyr, that would be cool if you could check those out. Another option is to open up every package at Best Buy to check it out, but they get mad for some reason. When I test it out, I will let you know, and will compile a full list.

For me, I want to be able to turn the volume down fast if I have to when someone is trying to say something, pulling up to a window, or when the cop pulls up beside me. I don't want to only rely on a little slider or whatever else is on the screen to do that. Especially if I have something else running, and I have to go through a couple of screens just to get the volume down. Plus looking down to move a little slider when I want to do it in a hurry can be a problem. It also lets me use the stock volume controls on the steering wheel. To me, an easy access volume control that I don't have to look down to use is important. To each is own though.Originally Posted by nsmoller

That is a nice idea and usefull of the existing buttons and and a great way to "integrated" to the car.
Anyway, having a switch on a sterring wheel to turn up/down the volumn is much faster than clicking on that slider. IR remote control is another darn cool one too.
