Tiny track ball on Gear Shift?

I was thinking of hacking up and mounting one of these

on to the shifter in my car.
    Any thoughts?
    recomendations?
    bad experiences?
i looked and saw no refference to anyone else using one like this before so all input is apreciated

    Thanks

I had the same idea... even bought the stuff. Alot harder than it looks.

People also say that when you shift or the vibrations from the shifter will cause irratic movement while driving.

looks nice... does the mouse move around at all form the car vibrations? if so how bad?

    Custommx3:
how did you try and do it? cut apart and reposition onto a pre existing shifter or just mount it on top of the shaft? or something else?

and i dotn think the vibratiosn will be an issue... im nto trying to play games on it... just pick mp3's... so a littel shaking of the cursor shoudlnt really be an issue... plus i can thrwo a little filler inside the housing to keep the ball from rolling without a bit of pressure.
