I'm sure the Treg has the same harness (same HU) as the Golf V, The Touran, and the Transporter T5. Does that mean they'll have the same soldering needs?Touareg harness is somewhat different from all VW and Audi models. So it won't be compatible. Not sure yet if they have somewhat different from PBus they use
to have. Will check it out soon.
[edit]It looks like they use just a different harness, the protocol is the same- PBus, so adapter will work fine but with some manual soldering[/edit]
If there will be a chance to get harness somewhere, then no. But I haven't seen it yet available...

I've got a 2005 MkIV GTI with double din Monsoon.
I don't have a carputer yet, but getting this would affect my choice (LCD in place of double din or not). For now, I'll test with a laptop.
I have a couple of questions:
- What's the "speed" like? I've got an icelink w/ iPod now and something I wish it could do is fast track scrolling. For example. I'd like to switch to playlist 2, then scroll to song 137 quickly. With the icelink there seems to be a delay between each track change so I can't just spin the wheel on the head unit to get close.
- What's likely to be the cost?
You can scroll fast, like 2-3 tracks a second. But you'll have multiple options for scroll. By album, directory, genre etc. You may read my article on possible options:
