    @Henry

    Good to hear you're putting this together. Please let me know how I can help at any stage.

    The RS switches:

    This is the main page for the ITT illuminated tactile items I have used:
    http://rswww.com/cgi-bin/bv/rswww/su...o?cacheID=ukie

    The part number for the red led circular switch is: 321-717
    You also need the keycaps, which I believe are 321-745 (round, black) - double check..

    Couple of quick questions:
    1) How are you interfacing the encoder and switches? - Girder with mouse plug-in?

    2) What front-end are you using?

    At the moment I havent got that far, I was going to try girder and the mouse plug in, and see how that was... I have soldered it all up this morning, but messed up on one of the contacts and took the base off the board so there is no way to get solder to stcik to the circuit board. I have another mouse to try, but only a 2 button one... A mate who I have built a carpc for has asked me to make one for him so will probably pop off to pcworld later and see if they have anything I can use rather than wait for internet purchase.

    I am using centrafuse and roadrunner at the moment, but think I will soon stick with rr as I just get on with it better! Thanks for the offer and will keep you up to date as I progress

    we are working on an 8 way joystick with rotation and push down but it is a few months away. I would copy Tonys for now. We are doing a full usb one without hacked parts.

    Tick...Tick...Tick, so many projects to do and so little time...

    I think that i might try this route instead of my powermate that I've been using since I started my carputer...

    The drivers are just not completely standyby friendly, I end up unpluging it at least once a week and it just gets anoining after a while...mouse works every single time..

    EDIT: well, upon futher investigation, it seams that RS is the only one that carries those pictular switches, not good for anyone in the US. I don't think that I even want to know what the delivery chage would be for a couple $ worth of parts...

    buggered if I can work it out!! I am not terribly good when it comes to these things! (read a retard when it comes to these things!!)

    Can anyone give me a short walkthrough of setting up girder and the plugin to get the mouse wheel and buttons configured for various things?
