Arrow Encoder & Buttons Mounted and Balanced

    More Progress:

I was able to mount all of the hardware in the desired location.

GAME: Can you guess what the buttons are made out of?
If you haven't got a clue, click here for the answer.

NOTE: If you look really closely into the housing on the right-hand pic, you'll get to see a glimpse of the encoder and the copper wire in the middle.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you can see, the hardware stage is fully mounted and completed.
However, I need help with programming Girder to work with both the controller and the touchscreen, please.

Tony: I'd be very thankful it if you'd let me see your Girder commands file.
Although the events work fine (all 5 buttons and wheel up/down movements), Girder does not differentiate between left clicking on the Controller and on the Touchscreen.

If anybody could help me with that, I'd really appreciate it.

Hey guys - I'm looking at having a crack at making one of these, but it appears that RS or Maplin don't stock these encoders any more

Any suggestions on a UK supplier of the parts and/or new info on things you've come up with over the last few months?

I can recommend this encoder from RS:

    http://rswww.com/cgi-bin/bv/rswww/se...ukie&Nr=avl:uk

This is the encoder I upgraded to. Its 6 + vat but works nicely.

Have checked RS web-site and its current and in stock.

    Good luck!

    Ah brill stuff, thanks Tony.

Would you believe that I did a search on RS for both "alps" and "encoder" and it came up with nothing...

Now all I need to do is work out where on earth you can mount this in a Corrado...

    Hi people,
I see that A lot of people including me have problems go get Girder work with the mouse

can someone place the file or explane how to program.

I work on an old 67 Mustang with a touch screen build in on the pasagers side.

I use the original chrome Radio to control the PC, I got the 7 push buttons work with the RR joystick plugin. but I have on the radio 2 double turn knobs and want to have them to work. on the left side was volume and balance on the the right was tune am and tune fm with a steel wire to move the slider (Yes the good old times) the original "display" is now changed by a 2x16 lcd display. when the radio is of it looks totaly original.

if someone can help to make the radioknobs work please let me know.

    best regards,

    Ralph

    current source for elctronic components?

I just started getting into this idea and would like to build what I have been reading about in this thread. I am a newb to circuitry, but I have tinkered around with it before and would like the challenge. Does anyone know of a current source for an inexpensive rotary encoder and the cool tact switches used in Tony's project? I have found tact switches at radio shack, but I like the ones others have used with the LED's build into them.

I checked a couple links in this thread, but they are for shops in Europe. I am trying to track down a source for them in the US so shipping is not 3 times the cost of the product to begin with.

    Thanks!
    Bryan
