    your local scrapyard?

seriously see if they are an option on say, a higher spec model of your car then they should fit fine, otherwise I hear there are stand alone 3rd party controls you can use, see here List of Steering Wheel Remotes

Hate to drag up this old thread but jcdillin, do you think your solution would work for newer model volvo's? Specifically a 2005 S40 with the MOST system? I know that the XC90, V50 and C70 all have the same system as my car so if options work for that then there is hope yet. TIA!

good point. surely after turnign the wheel full lock to full lock loads of times the wires will become loose nad the connection breaks?

figures I wouldnt see this post for many months. But to answer your question thats the reason I went wireless so I wouldnt have to run any wires through the slip ring. All I need is 12v to power the transmitter which is present in my steering wheel.

    here's my installation

This is a installation with using just the slip rings to control devices...i used it to control my jvc stereo so the jvc remote stalk protocol is used...

But you can get some ideas from it for otehr stuff.

I would really love to get something like this running on mine (see my thread in worklogs) but I dont have the brain capacity to build it from scratch myself. Any help will be most appreciated.
