I've had another thought... picked up a load of UK Audio bouchers... ie Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer etc.

Any way - most of the biggys have a new function that can directly connect and control a IPOD... so one connection / one protacol - ie IPOD.

What about a gizzmo to replicate an IPOD ? Would cross more head units in one hit.

PS I can give you Euro model numbers if you want

Great idea. Shoot me some links please.
The biggest challenge would be to "emulate" ipod. But I saw some guys doing it already...

Kenwoods interface = KCA-iP500 - Works with all headunits 03 onwards

    Alpine inteface = KCA-420i - Works with any 2004/2005 Ai-NET head unit

Pioneer interace = CD-IB100 - Works with most IP-Bus enabled head units

Plus I think I remeber seeing that Volvo and GM where working on OEM factory installed options as well.

I still vote for the Kenwood though but thats just me lol

    Hope that helps

Not sure what you mean ? You can get RCA<->3.5 jack very cheap these days. Is it a problem ?

It looks like first option gets voices. Well, I'll start working on it and update you guys on progress.
As in a previous case I will rely on you to make a beta testing. How about that ?

Yeah, the adapter is ready. Board still in development. The biggest problem is the OEM harness. Can't find Nissan and Honda. Brrr.

You may want to get in contact with a company called PAC ( http://www.pac-audio.com/ )

They seem to get a hold of all sorts of harness connectors (I have their PAC AAI-NIS which does Nissan aux input)

I don't think they will even talk to me. Or if they will, I don't think the harness will cost cheap enough. Rather expensive

No Subarus yet, eh? I'd love one for a 2004 Subaru Forester XT.

Subaru is a pain. It does not have any interface for external CD changer. So there is no easy way to connect to it. Even though it uses simple Panasonic protocol. Will see

Very nice. Although I would probably never use one because I hate factory crap, it's an excellent idea and looks like it works great.

I would vote toyota, because I do have a new car that I don't want to replace the deck in....but the carputer is not going in that car

Hmm, that's the whole point to leave everything stock and just add what is missing. Right now in my Golf I have all stock, but in the trunk I have XM, 40Gb of music and videos controlled via stock system.
