I haven't put you down at all.. merely made some comments.

I haven't mentioned at all what an idiot you are, or how stupid your ideas are.

this would be one of those cool techy things.. Nothing really functional, but cool when it works.

Exactly.. I'm putting in a thumbprint scanner for logon in my car just causeit looks cool. Odds are I'll disable it within a few weeks cause of the slowdown to bootup.

But having your car RELY on it to work? Stupid, risky, and dangerous..

    Bora, Chill man.

No one is putting you down, we are just commenting on the information you posted. Arbesaljnpgfahngfawgawerj (what ever the heck his name is) was just pointing out the extreme cost and lack of availability of the item you linked to. He certainly made no comments about you, or even about the idea. The idea might be a good idea, but it's feasibility due to cost and vailability is in question.

Kind of a silly idea.

no. not being able to move the car would not increase the likely hood of crashing. secondly....if the relay flips the feul supply off.....you would need to flip it back on. So if the theif had already tripped it off.....then they're already ****ed.

Well, depends on how the fuel cut is wired. It can be wired to be "turned off" upon an event, or "turned on" upon an event.

If the fuel is turned off upon an event, then the fuel would be flowing during boot up. If the computer fails to boot, then fuel would still flow because the event, requiring a password, has not occured. However, turning the computer off/keeping it from booting would overcome the "event" and the car could be driven.

If the fuel is turned on upon an event, the carputer would need to boot in order to start the car. While that would keep it safe from thieves, because removing the computer would keep the car in operable, if the carputer fails to boot, then you could never start the car.

I don't think one could overcome the inherent problems with both systems, at least not with a computer alone.

wow first attempt at this was horribly scattered lets try this again:

i was just giving em trouble thats all
    i wasnt taking anything serious

    get safe

hack it up find out where unlock signal comes from
throw that into a timer relay (when given power the relay holds circut for predetermind amount of time)
    this arms a pushbutton start

then after 30 seconds it cancels the circut to the pushbutton start
if the car is on it stays on
if the car didnt start the start button wont work till fingerprint is done again...

    bla bla bla
