Hey guys, i am trying to find a mic for my carputer. It is coming to be install time soon, and this is one of the last few things i need. Obviously a noise canceling mic is needed, due to the noise levels of a car, but most of what i find are all headsets. I just want something i can place maybe on my a-pillar, out of the way. I am sure this has been discussed before, but i cant really find anything on it after some searches. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that noise cancelling microphones need to be close to the mouth to work. (Unless there is something different available than the traditional ones.) I got the logitech one.... opened it up, dont see anything in it that would be "noise canceling" as they claim... it has a inline switch which just cuts the mic output, no other parts...
mine wasnt the usb version, but I need to talk VERY loudly/close to it for it to capture anything.... not sure how good it would be....

The noise cancelign part is in the stalk. Its the weird openings you see behind the mic.
I went to Kmart for the first time in forever yesterday and they had a computer associates noice canceling mic on clearance for 7 bucks. I figured what the hell n bought it. I can 6 as far as 3 feet away and speak clearly. Works great. Dunno model number or anything but it looks just like the logitech.
i have a mic (forget the brand) lying around here somewhere.. It has those slots below the mic, maybe ill just try that.
