    Problem Installing ATI Remote Wonder

I just got an AIT Remote Wonder from someone on here that I trust.

When I got home, I proceeded to download the driver from the ATI website since the guy didn't give me a CD.

When I try to install it, I get 3 error messages durring the install process.

After clicking OK to each of the msgs, it then proceeds to tell me to reboot. I reboot, and the damn thing doesn't work.

Here are the error messages I get. Any Ideas?

I have had alot of problems with my Remote Wonder, mostly my own fault.

First, do not even look at the reciever until you have installed the software. USB is not plug 'n play...

Second, here's how I get everything to work once I screwed up:

Uninstall anything to do with the Remote. This includes hunting through your registry for anything that might not have uninstalled.

    Download the software from ATI:https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...ge&folderID=27
That one should work if you have the 'original' one.

Restart. (Hell, restart again for good measure. It can't hurt, and it gives you a chance to get something to eat.)

At this point you should have the little icon down in the corner for the remote. If you don't, kick it. Hard. Because at this point, I usually end up uninstalling it, and trying again. Its a real pain in the ***.

If you do have the little icon, click on it. You should have the options screen. If you have this, you should be ok. Close the options screen.

Only at this point, should you even consider plugging in the reciever.

Make sure it's not for RemoteCtrl 2..

    Un-Install everything ....
    reinstall everything ......

then and only then do you plug in the USB dongle... and NEVER EVER move it to a different USB port or hub.

They are touchy, but work great ...

EDIT: I guess I should have read the previous post
