All those with a black Powermate, inside please..

To all those who own a black Griffin Powermate, how tough is the anodized color? I'm wondering if it will show silver scratches from use (rings, watches, etc.)after awhile. I really would like to use a black one, but only if the color scratches off. Anyone have scratches on theirs?

Snootch, i have the silver one but i can already see some scuffs just from normal use, its not too bad, unless the light hits it just right. I know you were wondering about the black one, and not the silver one, but just figured i'd give my experiences.

    I have a black one,and it's damn hard to scratch it.....it's been on my desk,in a box rolling around,dropped on the floor,etc.
Not only does it still work,I can't see any marks on it.
Now,if only windows would still think it's connected all the time,it would be great.

It's tough, like most anodized aluminum surfaces. Mine has some scratches on the edge of the knob from my ring after several months of use, but they're small. Get silver if that's a concern. Although a black magic marker covers scratches well.

What you should be more worried about is getting the damned thing to work reliably, as seanshine mentioned. I have a 50% success rate for it powering up. If there's no driver fix in the near future I'm going to get a powered hub just for the powermate, and wire a switch to reset it until it powers up.

They work flawlessly on a Mac Mini. Even starts the computer if you click on it.

Yeah, but who in their right mind wants to use a mac mini?

I'd prefer to flame the guys at Griffin that can't put out a decent driver for Windows. I didn't pay $50 for a rotary paperweight.
